Join the BCS Foundation for an authentic fais do-do Cajun celebration complete with zydeco band and dancing, upscale Louisiana creole cuisine, games and prizes, and of course our exciting silent and live auctions.
Put the kids to bed and come join the party! Dating back to 1930s & 40s Louisiana, a fais do-do is a Cajun community gathering, featuring zydeco music and plenty of food, where young children slept in one room and parents danced the night away in another. The name may come from a lullaby urging babies to fais dormir – go to sleep. During these hard times a Fais do-do would be held to raise community spirits, and sometimes to raise funds for a good cause.
Now, after so much time apart, we are ready to bring our BCS community back together to laissez les bon temps rouler – let the good times roll! And, to raise funds for special projects at Bullis Charter School. This year will provide for exciting new technology investments in our two K-5 Makerspaces and Middle School FabLab.
So, get your ticket, book the babysitter (sorry, no parc aux petits - napping room), and get ready to dance the night away with your friends at the BCS on the Bayou: Fais do-do!
